Gabby Douglas Returns to Competitive Gymnastics

Three-Time Olympic Champion Back in the Game

Douglas Announces Comeback for 2024 Season

Three-time Olympic champion Gabby Douglas is making a comeback to competitive gymnastics. The 26-year-old announced on social media that she will compete in the 2024 season, with her sights set on the Paris Olympics. Douglas, who won gold in the all-around, team, and floor exercise at the 2012 London Olympics, retired from the sport in 2016. She made a brief return in 2021, but withdrew from the U.S. Olympic Trials due to injury. This time around, Douglas is determined to make it to Paris. She has been training hard for the past year, and is confident that she can still compete at the highest level. "I'm so excited to be back," Douglas said. "I've missed competing, and I'm ready to give it my all." Douglas's comeback is a major boost for the U.S. gymnastics team. She is one of the most decorated gymnasts in American history, and her experience and leadership will be invaluable to the team. "Gabby is a true champion," said U.S. national team coordinator Tom Forster. "She's a role model for young gymnasts, and we're thrilled to have her back."
